Christmas Time, Portrait Time

Unfortunately I don't get to do much people and portrait work. Christmas is one of the occasions where at least the family can't get away without being photographed all over :-D

A Joyful Merry Christmas!

All preparations for Christmas are done. There is some time for a halt before the holy night calms and unites a big part of our world for a short time. Time to let the mind wander. Time to focus. Time to be grateful, time to gain new hope and time to love.

I wish you can find that time for a peaceful and joyful christmas and that the time finds you and your beloved ones healthy and with new hope. Thank you for your company and support. Have a wonderful christmas!

One component of this file manager is a file system library which can be used distributed over different machines.

Is Java platform independent?

In a comment to another blog I recently mentioned that I use Java for software development quite a while now and that I enjoy greater platform independency since I do. I received a reply stating that platform independency would be pure 'marketing speak'.  This got me thinking: Is Java platform independent?...

Cut, Copy and Paste with Java

To implement standard cut, copy and paste for a Java application is a common task in many use cases. I just recently came across this requirement again and noticed that it was hard to find my way through the documentation. I like to add to this with this post as an entry to more details.
